What can I use to oil electric hair clippers if I don't have the oil that came with them origin
any home products?
What can I use to oil electric hair clippers if I don't have the oil that came with them originally, baby oil?
3 in 1, or wd40
What can I use to oil electric hair clippers if I don't have the oil that came with them originally, baby oil?
3in1 household oil.
What can I use to oil electric hair clippers if I don't have the oil that came with them originally, baby oil?
I've used cooking oil on mine. I don't think baby oil has the right viscosity for lubrication of metal.
What can I use to oil electric hair clippers if I don't have the oil that came with them originally, baby oil?
you can't just use any oil because the viscosity is different. too viscous and it can ruin it because it will have to work extra hard. not viscous enough and the speed could be wrong. you have to find the oil that is specifically made for it.
What can I use to oil electric hair clippers if I don't have the oil that came with them originally, baby oil?
NOT baby oil! Baby oil will not lubricate the metal parts very well since it is mineral oil, not petroleum oil. All you need is a lubricating oil meant for machinery, something like 3-in-1 oil, anything like that, a light oil. Even something like plain ordinary motor oil would do. Do you have a sewing machine? The same oil used on your sewing machine parts would be just the thing.
Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. sugg
Get yourself a Cat Comb and brush her every Day. I also have a Long Haired Cat and I brush Him every Day. Cats Hair should not need to be Cut. By Brushing Regularly the Hair will Thin itself out.

Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
why are you giving your cat a hair cut?? Is his/her fur badly matted? If so, you should take him/her to the vet and they'll do it with as little stress as possible inflicted - or take the cat to a local groomer - I have a long haired cat - and he gets brushed daily and I've never felt the need to cut his hair - in fact, he'd look pretty silly with his fur cut...so I'd suggest you stop scaring the cat rigid and get his fur cut professionally!!!

Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
We shaved our cat early this summer pretty sucessfully.. The best suggestion I have is to take a very thick towel and wrap the cat up in it, then expose the area you want to shave a little bit at a time.. you'll probably need a second person to help you with that.. also, thick gloves are very helpful in preventing damage from kitty teeth..
Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
try treats with a small sedative and then your friend holds her down while you trim. just do it quick and give your cat lots of love before and after.
Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
He/she needs to learn the clippers are okay. This could be a problem if they associate them with a bad memory or something. I suggest (and unfortunately this takes time) you expose your cat to the clippers without cutting any hair and slowly but surely try and get further and further towards the big cut until kitty no longer freaks out.
No quick fix unfortunately. My bf says us the vacuum cleaner lol - he loves our cat really. Good luck :)
Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
I know, it's really hard, I have a long haired cat with bum matts. I finally had to take him to a groomer and he told me that was the right thing to do - cats have thin skin that can break and get infected if you don't know what you are doing. Plus they hate the noise of things buzzing so razors are hard to use.
Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
hi there, know exactly what you mean,we have the same trouble with one of our dogs, although it is not advised to clip cats can sympathise with you in this heat,if you go to your local vets,or friendly pharmacist and ask them for a sedative, effectivly to "dope"them it should do the trick,it certainly works for dogs, but please dont try anything other than professional advice(quantity%26amp;weight)is an issue!hope this helps: Julie. x.

cover your cats eyes before you bring the clippers out, then while using the clippers pet her or him and tell them how good they are.

Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
Ever wondered why the cat as long fur, could it possibly be because it needs it to protect itself from heat as well as cold.
Stop mucking about with nature, all it needs is a nice brushing and it will look after its coat on its own.
Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
Hiya,
My doggie was like this, it was always a fight to clip him, he would go and hide under the table or anywhere he thought he was safe from getting clipped. So 1 time I took him to the groomers and he was going to eat the lady. I regret to say, I allowed her to muzzle the wee man but he still writhed about like a snake and she had to give up.
Solved this by explaining the prob to the vet and asking for a sedative. Can't remember how much it cost, but it was very little.
The trick is to wait till he's nice and drowsy and then be ready to do the job quickly. Then lots of stroking and love as your pet comes back to full reality. Did this twice and then doggie had gotten used to it a bit and realised it would not harm him, so he allowed me to clip him. Could only do this in three stages, as he got very impatient after a short time.
I have to say he looked very peculiar in between these stages, but he had a very bad life before we got him and strange looks from the neighbours was worth it to keep him from feeling frightened.
Hope this helps.
Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
if you can't pay for the grromer then best to leave it be.
just comb her each day and make sure the airconditioner is on on cold, that way she won't feel any heat.
you shouldn't cut your cat hair off unless you were certified to do so.
Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
Why do you want to cut its hair ??? its meant to be a long haired cat, poor little thing.
Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
i know it seems harsh but if you can manage to damp the cat down the bad fur will clump together it will be easier to distinguish from the skin then genly trim with scissors i know it takes longer but clippers will do more harm than good as a cats fur is fine it will clog the clippers and pull the cats fur hope this is helpful
Hi, I am trying to give my long hair cat a haircut but it keeps freaking out from the clippers. suggestions?
Please do not do that. Long hair cats have their fur for protection and for beauty. To have their fur in nice shape it should be brushed. I have Persian Exotic and I brush her twice a day. So please put some effort in that and do not cut off her fur

Could you tell me is there any differance from dog's hair clippers to human hair clippers?
Yes, there is a difference. The oils in a dogs skin %26amp; coat are different than the oils in ours as is the texture of their hair/fur. Most clippers you will find in pet stores or pet section of your local K-mart aren't any different (except for the price) than human clippers. Human clippers will not last very long, the blades will seize up and it will be rendered useless unless you buy new blades (it would be cheaper to just buy new clippers). Clippers sold in a grooming supply store are alot sturdier and will last alot longer than traditional human ones but these will cost you a few hundred dollars. Human clippers will not harm your dog at all, so if your just planning on grooming your own dog you are probably best to buy $35 clippers from K-mart. But if you're planning to groom every dog in your neighborhood, save yourself alot of headaches and get the good ones from a grooming suppy store.
Could you tell me is there any differance from dog's hair clippers to human hair clippers?

Could you tell me is there any differance from dog's hair clippers to human hair clippers?
Yes, Count the number of teeths on the clipper's blade. Pet clippers has more teeth and human clippers has less (24)
Could you tell me is there any differance from dog's hair clippers to human hair clippers?
YES!!! HUGE differences!
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!
Could you tell me is there any differance from dog's hair clippers to human hair clippers?
There has to be a difference....I tried the ol' Wal Mart clippers on my dog and they wont work with a gaurd.
Could you tell me is there any differance from dog's hair clippers to human hair clippers?
Human clippers cut hair by moving two pieces of metal back and forth. The cutting is done by the motion. Dogs fur is softer- for the most part these clippers will not work on dogs.
Dog clippers use blades. This makes it easier to trim and slice open an ear. BE CAREFUL!
Could you tell me is there any differance from dog's hair clippers to human hair clippers?
no there is really no diff. they cut the same. i use human clippers on my dog all the time.
Can u cut a golden retr. hair with human hair clippers?
I can't stop you, but I really don't recommend it. If you've never been shown how to use clippers on a dog then you'll most likely end up with a really choppy and ugly cut. Beyond that, I really don't understand why people shave goldens if there isn't a medical problem that would require it. The fur may grow back normally the first time, or even the first few times, but eventually the fur won't grow back in normally and you'll be left with an unpleasant feeling (and looking) coat. Plus, the hair is protective...undercoats not only keep dogs warm in the winter, they actually help to keep dogs cool in the summer. So shaving them so that they will be "cooler" during hot weather can actually be counter productive. And finally, shaving a dog will not change the amount of fur that they shed. it will only make the fur shorter and I personally find that worse than lots of medium-long hair laying around the house. Not only do short hairs dig into fabrics more(and are therefor harder to remove), but cut hairs are sharp and prickly compared to natural hairs.
Can u cut a golden retr. hair with human hair clippers?
Yes, but it will look choppy. Your best bet is to have your dog professionally groomed. I know how you feel, though... it's expensive sometimes. Shop around and see if there's any place that has a good deal. Petsmart is expensive. They wanted $60 to groom my dog, but Petco only wanted $30.
Can u cut a golden retr. hair with human hair clippers?
The clippers will die before you finish the job.
Can u cut a golden retr. hair with human hair clippers?
NO! NO!NO!

Can u cut a golden retr. hair with human hair clippers?
Please take your golden to the groomers. I had a friend who took her clippers to her golden, it looked just horrible. She ended up taking her to the groomer and she had to have the poor dog almost shaved. It took months for her beautiful fur to grow back in.
Can u cut a golden retr. hair with human hair clippers?
yes you can - but don't ----- you could have a mess. go to a groomer!!!!!
Can u cut a golden retr. hair with human hair clippers?
Why do you want to cut the fur?????? Dogs have the coat they do for a reason.. It protects them from the elements..
Can u cut a golden retr. hair with human hair clippers?
sure, but it might make your clippers dull. they have special clippers and blades made for dogs hair
Can u cut a golden retr. hair with human hair clippers?
You can but it dulls the blade out quick. I tryed to do mine last year and went through 3 sets of clippers and still didnt finish. Also I wouldnt suggest it becasue the hair never grows back in right. It gave my dog callicks all over and hair became hard and gruff not soft and cuddly anymore. I would use a good rake brush the undercoat kind if you are wanting to help with the cooling process for your dog. I would keep brushing it with an undercoat brush and get all the dead hair off. That will help.
You can though use human clippers just be prepared for a long long day and many frustrations. Good Luck
