Electric clippers for my Maltese: advice needed!?

This year I'd like to try grooming my Maltese at home (keeping his hair trimmed short during the warmer weather months) but I have no experience cutting dog hair. How difficult are clippers to use, and which are the best kind to buy? Advice from experienced doggy home barbers is welcome! Thanks.

The oster A5 I like the two speed, or the comprable Andies and the most reliable and best all around clippers. With a Maltese you might get away with something else but if you ever need any strength you will be glad you went for one of the two above.

They have all sorts of different blades that will interchange with both clippers also. And they are very easy to use.

Hi we run the only all bichons breeds site in the world and on that site are grooming videos for you to watch and see, also tips and online lessons for owners from top breeders in the world, I would say before geting to grips with clippers join the site its totally free and there is even advice on clippers and scissors.
