I've used cooking oil on mine. I don't think baby oil has the right viscosity for lubrication of metal.

you can't just use any oil because the viscosity is different. too viscous and it can ruin it because it will have to work extra hard. not viscous enough and the speed could be wrong. you have to find the oil that is specifically made for it.

NOT baby oil! Baby oil will not lubricate the metal parts very well since it is mineral oil, not petroleum oil. All you need is a lubricating oil meant for machinery, something like 3-in-1 oil, anything like that, a light oil. Even something like plain ordinary motor oil would do. Do you have a sewing machine? The same oil used on your sewing machine parts would be just the thing.
