How to erase lines when using hair clippers to taper different lengths?

I'm trying to learn how to cut my own hair, I'm pretty good at it.. accept I don't know exactly how to erase the line you get on your head when you use clippers, trying to fade/taper different lengths. When I use a #1 on the sides of my head, I have this line left, how do I blend it in to the number#2 on the top of my head?..someone told me to just adjust the clippers lever? or do i use the blend attachment clip, nobody does that, they usually just blend it with the clippers some how?,any advice please.

If you use a # 1 on the bottom, and a #2 on top then you fade it in with the #1 1/2 on the line. Just push the gray lever on the side that makes the blade go back and leave it their. the go over the line. EASY! If you use a #2 on the side and a #4 on top you go over the line with a # 2 !/2 and do not go stright up with the clippers go up and out. EASY!

Dont know how short you keep it but let's say you put on the no.3 and shaved all up and the sides. Next you would put on the no.2 and stopping a bit lower under the no.3 line, start whipping the clippers to blend line. Then hook up the no.1, repeat. Line it up.Its all about whipping the clippers to fade that line.
