my hairstyle looks better when it is even on all sides and a little longer than 1 inch. all the hair clippers i came across top off at 1 inch. any idea what i can do?

Nothing longer than 1 inch in clipper guides. You can get a good haircut from a barber that will do you fine. I'd go to an old fashioned barber and tell them exactly what you want.
